Coulson Building Group were appointed main contractor and worked alongside Pick Everard to design and build and develop an existing 0.5 form entry primary school (120 pupils) into a 1 form entry primary school with 220 pupils.

The main part of the project consisted of the erection of a two storey rear extension and single storey infill extension constructed from a steel frame, infilled with a timber frame and covered with cladding and render. A new plant room was built within the extension along with the ventilation system being placed intop of the flat room. A small extension at the entranceway of the school was constructed to give the school a newly improved look and to match the extension to the rear.

Another part of the works was the internal refurbishment to part of a grade II listed building together with the removal of the existing temporary classroom. The external works involved additional on-site parking, new playground new entrance way to the front of the school and associated landscaping.

Construction of the extension and refurbishment works were completed within the 39-week timescale allowing school occupation prior to the start of the September 2019 term. The existing school remained operational through the programme.
