Undergraduate Placement Scheme

If you’re resourceful, conscientious and keen to learn and develop we will ensure you are given every opportunity to excel.

We believe that what sets our placement apart from others is that you will experience greatly varied work, be given real responsibility and have access to the wealth of knowledge and experience that our talented workforce has to offer.

Post graduation employment opportunities

We are always looking to recruit the next generation of talented construction professionals so a successful placement can pave the way for longer term employment opportunities post graduation.

A number of previous placement students have returned to work for us post graduation.

What are we looking for in placement students?
  • Firstly you must be studying a relevant construction related Degree such as Construction Management or Quantity Surveying and set to achieve at least a 2:1
  • You must be proactive and committed to a career in construction. A team player with the potential to lead others towards a shared goal.
  • This placement carries real responsibility and your input will directly influence the success of projects you are involved in.
  • Capabilities are recognised and rewarded and you will be encouraged to grow and take on increased responsibilities as you find your feet.
  • You will gain diverse work experience working for us, a medium sized contractor, as you will be involved first hand across all areas of pre-construction and project delivery during your placement.
  • Although responsibility is a key feature throughout the placement you will benefit from strong support from managers and colleagues with a wealth of experience and expertise.

When is the best time to apply?

We accept applications throughout the year but short listing and interviews usually take place early in the New Year so please ensure your application reaches us in good time to allow us to consider you.

Will I need to relocate?

Our projects are predominantly based in East Anglia, Cambridgeshire in particular, so depending on where you live you may need to relocate. As is customary in our industry we have early start times on site so please consider this when deciding whether to relocate or not.

Will I need a driving license and car?

A driving license is essential during your placement as you will be regularly visiting sites whether in a surveying or site/project management capacity. Whilst not essential, having your own vehicle would be useful, with the company reimbursing you for any business mileage.
