Bid Writer

Part Time, Flexible/Negotiable Hours

the role

Produce creative writing to provide answers for all quality questions on all bids.

Review the client’s scoring matrix and ensure the questions will be answered to meet their exact requirements.

Produce winning bid documents with style structure and persuasion. This is to include all Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ), Selection Questionnaires (SQ), Tenders (ITT) and Framework Bids.

Whilst this role is primarily based within our Cambridge office a hybrid role may be possible.

 

Core Duties

Hold and/or attend brainstorming and proposal workshops.

Align and develop themes and a coherent winning bid strategy.

Share ideas to raise the standard of submissions.

Engage with the wider bid/preconstruction team to ensure all ideas are captured and developed.

Assist in preparing company CVs and case studies.

Liaise with team to identify and develop key themes.

Attend initial client meetings and agree deliverables and deadlines.

Attend site visits.

Arrange and facilitate workshops with wider preconstruction team.

Review answers from other parts of the team; check for consistency etc.

Ensure all questions are answered in time for the internal deadline so the submission document can be proofread by a company Director.

Post tender/mid tender – assist the team to prepare for any interviews and assemble a presentation.

Agree and incorporate feedback.

Develop a bid library to help with standardised answers. 

General skills and knowledge

Excellent communication and writing skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Organised individual with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.

experience & qualifications

Experience of working in the construction industry.

Proven experience as a Bid Writer or similar role, preferably in the construction industry.

Experience in Technical writing.

Experience in PQQs, SQs, ITTs and Framework bids.

Track record in bid writing and understanding of the tendering process.

Proven experience working with external stakeholders.
