To procure the labour, plant and materials required on projects up to the value of £10 million.
Provide cost control reporting through-out the project and manage all valuations.
1. Oversee the commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects.
2. Complete subcontractor and supplier order placement.
3. Be a part of pre-contract meetings with supply chain.
4. Carry out take-offs from material procurement.
5. Report to the Commercial Manager prior to procurement of key packages.
6. Use the templates provided by Coulson for the role.
7. Take reasonable steps to ensure each project returns a profit.
8. Submit variations to the client team.
9. Cost Control through-out the project.
10. Submit monthly cost reports to the Commercial Manager & Construction Director.
11. Work collaboratively within a small project team.
12. Work several different projects at a time.
13. Ensure procurement remains ahead of site progress.
14. Manage any extension of time claims.

4. Understanding of health, safety, and environment polices, CDM regulations and safe
systems of work.
5. Ensure procurement is inline and considers our Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
6. Raise with the Construction Director if you believe a member of the Coulson Team is
struggling with Mental Health.
7. Take reasonable care of your own health and safety in the workplace and that of others who
may be affected by your work and raise any health and safety issues with your line manager.
8. Comply with the commitments set out in the Company’s Environmental and Waste
Management Policies.

9. Ensure you remain ahead of programme in terms of procurement to ensure there is no
unnecessary programme delay or contractual complications.

10. Carry out regular and effective communication between team members.
11. Develop and maintain strong professional working relationships with design teams,
consultants and clients.
1. Have a strong knowledge of JCT & NEC Contracts.
2. Strong and varied knowledge of methods of construction.
3. Varied knowledge of different project types / sectors.
4. Possess a high level of practical skill in the use of Microsoft Excel & Word.
5. Have a basic awareness and ability to use Microsoft Project.
6. Host and minute meetings.
7. Strong negotiation skills.
8. Understanding of project cost control.
9. Ability to foresee potential risk items within a project and manage them out.
1. Have a construction degree qualification or 10 years industry experience.
2. Proven experience in procuring and delivering construction projects between £1m – £10m
3. Proven experience of working of different types of projects.
