To effectively oversee day to day site operations to ensure client needs are met and projects are completed within time and budget

experience & qualifications

Health, Safety & Environment

Understanding of health, safety and environment policies, CDM regulations and safe systems of work.

Organise the works to maintain a working environment that is safe and without risk to health in accordance with the Coulson Building Group Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems.

Maintain an up to date knowledge of Coulson Building Group’s Health, Safety and Environment procedures, for example hot works, emergency procedures and working at height, ensuring that these procedures are implemented when required.

Give all employees and sub-contractors precise instructions regarding their responsibilities for correct working methods and working safely. Ensure that individuals are not permitted to take unnecessary risks.

Carry out health and safety monitoring, arrange for any corrective actions, ensure that actions are taken and provide details to the manager responsible.

Ensure that individuals under your control are made aware of the health and safety precautions associated with their type of work, and that their place of work is safe through the provision of induction, training and tool box talks.

Carry out the reporting and investigation of accidents and significant incidents, recording as per agreed procedure, ensuring that Safety Director & Advisors are kept fully informed and involved as appropriate

Carry out appropriate risk assessments, including those for control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) and that control measures are implemented and maintained.

Ensure appropriate protective clothing and health and safety equipment is issued, correctly used and maintained.

Follow agreed procedures when working in occupied properties to ensure resident safety and security.

Quality

A hands-on approach and a commitment to provide a high quality, client focused service with an ethos of “right first time on time”.

  1. Ensure that project delivery is completed in accordance with the Company’s Quality Management System.

Communication

Maintain and develop meaningful communications and working relationships and act as primary point of contact for clients and their representatives, receiving feedback and providing a clear client focus in relation to provision of the service.

Liaison with consultancy services.

Promote through regular liaison, a customer service culture which emphasises a client partnership

Encourage your team to communicate and build effective working relationships with the client.

Communicate regularly and effectively to all team members.

General

Assist the project team in monitoring and ensuring that key performance indicators (where applicable) are continually met so that the project programme is delivered on time to the required quality and gives value for money.

Lead by example, manage and develop the site team.

Produce and return site records and reports inline with the Company’s standard procedures.

Assist with identifying any training requirements for Coulson employees.

Ensure the proper use of welfare facilities.

All duties and responsibilities should be carried out in accordance with agreed Coulson Policy and Procedures, giving regard to Coulson policy commitments to efficient service provision, promotion of Equal Opportunities and Diversity, Corporate Social Responsibility and good employee relations.

Any other duties the Company may reasonably require. Having at all times full regard for the departments competitiveness, efficiency and general viability.

Skills/Knowledge

 

A good knowledge of building industry practices, processes and requirements

Ability to communicate and interact with relevant stakeholders including clients and staff.

Provide leadership and direction.

Ability to motivate direct resource and increase efficiencies.

Ability to support and deliver mobilisation programmes.

Demonstrate adaptability in meeting client needs.
