Job Role

The Quality, Environment, Health and Safety (QESH) role will support the Business to deliver the strategic objectives of Coulson Building Group relating to quality assurance and customer satisfaction, health safety and wellbeing, sustainability and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Promote QESH best practices, awareness and performance improvement throughout the Company
  • Manage the policies and procedures and their application throughout the Company
  • Oversee the quality assurance process, developing, implementing and maintaining a health and safety and environment system.
  • Review client and user feedback with the view to improving customer satisfaction
  • Ensure all compliance registers such as the legal compliance, risk and opportunities registers are maintained and updated at all times
  • Support stakeholders of the business with risk assessments and implementation of required controls.
  • Provide safety support and advice to all departments in conjunction with EBSG.
  • Conduct compliance audits in accordance with ISO 9001 & 14001and CHAS requirements
  • Manage the Integrated Management System in terms of recertification and surveillance audits
  • Support all departments with QESH information required by clients and others
  • Unannounced site visits to audit QESH related items are being completed.
  • Preparation of information and lead quarterly meetings, including production of agenda and subsequent minutes.
  • Completion of O&M manuals and Health and Safety files.

Person Specification

  • Highly organised and motivated professional with strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence, persuade and communicate with people at all levels within the organisation and with external stakeholders like auditors and regulators.
  • At least five years’ experience in QESH management or a similar role within business assurance or similar.
  • Stay up to date with latest rules, regulations and industry advice and feedback as necessary.
  • Construction industry experience preferred.
  • Possession of professional qualifications in Health and Safety and Quality Assurance is desirable
  • Experience in implementing and managing an integrated management system based on the ISO framework
  • Knowledge and working experience with continuous improvement methodologies
  • Genuine interest in social responsibility.
