We are currently seeking a Plumbing and Heating Surveyor to join our established and highly motivated Services Department.

To provide a comprehensive and cost effective estimating and supervision function to the department with reference to plumbing and heating work
A good knowledge of building industry practices, processes and requirements with particular emphasis on plumbing and heating work
Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety matters
Ability to communicate and interact with relevant stakeholders including clients and staff.
Ability to motivate direct resource and increase efficiencies.
Demonstrate adaptability in meeting client needs.
Possess a good level of practical skill in the use of Microsoft Office packages and Company specific software.
Able to represent the Company professionally when dealing with clients.
Health, Safety & Environment
Understanding of health, safety and environment policies and safe systems of work, particularly with regards to work at height.
Organise the works to maintain a working environment that is safe and without risk to health in accordance with the Coulson Building Group Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems.
Ensure that individuals under your control are made aware of the health and safety precautions associated with their type of work, and that their place of work is safe through the provision of induction, training and tool box talks.
Carry out the reporting and investigation of accidents and significant incidents, recording as per agreed procedure, ensuring that Safety Director & Advisors are kept fully informed and involved as appropriate
Carry out appropriate risk assessments, including those for control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) and that control measures are implemented and maintained.
Ensure appropriate protective clothing and health and safety equipment is issued, correctly used and maintained.
Follow agreed procedures when working in occupied properties to ensure resident safety and security.
A hands-on approach and a commitment to provide a high quality, client focused service with an ethos of “right first time on time”.
Ensure that project delivery is completed in accordance with the Company’s Quality Management System.
Maintain and develop meaningful communications and working relationships and act as primary point of contact for clients and their representatives, receiving feedback and providing a clear client focus in relation to provision of the service.
Communicate regularly and effectively to all team members.
Produce cost effective specifications and estimates based upon client enquiries and/or estimates based on client specifications.
Requisition materials required for the job and organise labour.
Provide cost effective supervision of plumbing and heating works from original enquiry to completion on site to ensure the client needs of quality, timing and value for money are met whilst maximising the profit made.
Maintain site records
Maintain site records and ensure Gas Safe notifications are made.
Raise all necessary paperwork associated with variation orders, check and approve timesheets and subcontractor and material invoices.
Provide information and assistance to the Administration Department for the preparation of accounts and invoices. Assist in resolving account queries.
Assist with identifying any training requirements for Coulson employees.
Provide technical and supervisory back-up and cover for departmental colleagues when absent (due to holidays, sickness or site visits).

Experience of supervising and leading a team.
Relevant trade qualifications (NVQ/City and Guilds)
Relevant H&S qualifications (SMSTS/IOSH/CSCS).
Experience of client focused service delivery.
Proven experience in the supervision of projects.
