The project is for the construction of a two-storey purpose built extension to provide six classrooms, hall, new entrance and school office, linked to the existing primary school. In addition, three classrooms, toilets and cloakroom facilities will be remodelled, additional car parking provided and improvements to pedestrian and cycle access arrangements.
A cross laminated timber (CLT) structure was used throughout to reduce the onsite construction period and minimise disruption.
The existing school remained occupied throughout the 40 week contract period. Early engagement has enabled buildability and cost certainty to be addressed from the outset.
