This project was carried out within the basement of the north range
of the main court of Clare College, Cambridge. It included the complete refurbishment and upgrading of the kitchens, servery, buttery, lavatories, bar and JCR.
The JCR was originally converted from the former crypt of the college chapel by Coulson & Son Ltd some 30 years earlier.
The works involved a major intervention in very tight space to incorporate disabled access provision and provide a new Portland stone staircase.
The project was completed within a six month programme.
